Roman Provincial

DACIA, Provincial issue. Philip I. 244-249 AD. Æ 28mm (15.28 gm). Dated year 2 (245/246 AD). Laureate bust right / Dacia seated left, holding grain ear and poppy in right hand, sheaf in left, flanked by legionary standards, one with V on banner and eagle's head on shaft, the other with XIII and lion's head; AN•II• in exergue. AMNG I 14. VF, lots of detail, green patina.

The details of this coin vary somewhat from the description in AMNG, which is taken from poorly preserved coins in Sestini and Mionnet. Although technically not in very high grade, this coin is remarkably well preserved, with all details present and clear.
